Parish Council
President: Jim PopeVice President: Corresponding Secretary: Recording Secretary: Parish Mission Statement
We the parish family of Saint Anthony's Church, young and old, married and single, are united through Baptism, to be Jesus through word and action, in our world today. Through the Eucharist and the Liturgy of the Word we are motivated to be an open and genuinely caring family in service to our parish and to our world. Within the Saint Anthony's community, we are supported and challenged to grow together and to work together in sharing our time, talents and treasures to fulfill Jesus' command to love one another and to care for one another.
Our Parish Council has been formed to pray, to plan, to propose and to promote our parish's vision and purpose: to proclaim Jesus to the world around us through the ministries of Word, Worship, and Service. We, as the Parish Council, are a group of people who together represent our parish and plan and guide its growth.
The Parish Council is comprised of twelve elected parishioners, the Pastor, the Deacon, the Trustees, and the Religious Education Coordinator. All parishioners may participate in some aspect of the various Committees. | Liturgy Committee: responsible for nurturing the faith of parishioners and for planning the prayer life of the parish. | | Social Committee: responsible for the planning and implementation of events that will promote goodwill and "family togetherness" for our parishioners and social justice activities that will help those in need in our community and beyond. | | Grounds and Maintenance: responsible for planning, setting of priorities and implementation of projects that will provide a sense of pride for our parishioners with regard to the physical aspects of our Church. | | Right to Life: responsible for promoting programs that help support and deepen the love and understanding of family life as a relationship with Christ. Responsible for educating and promoting Pro-Life values that follow Church teaching with regard to Abortion, Ageism, Sexism, Racism and all forms of prejudice and life-threatening issues. | | Religious Education: responsible for transmitting the Good News of Jesus to all age groups within our Catholic Faith Community.
Chairpersons are appointed from the Parish Council to head up the above committees.
